Former Jayhawk Mario Chalmers Playing in 2011 NBA Finals

The Miami Heat won Game 1 of the 2011 NBA Finals, 92-84 over the Dallas Mavericks Tuesday night. Game 2 of the best of seven series will be played Thursday night at American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fla. The game can be seen on ABC at 8pm Central.

Former Jayhawk guard Mario Chalmers (2006-08) came off the bench for the Heat in Game 1 to play 28:24 and score 12 points. Chalmers, best known for his three-point shot that sent the 2008 NCAA Championship game into overtime against Memphis, was 3-of-8 from the field overall and 3-of-7 from behind the arc. Chalmers also contributed one offensive rebound, one assist and one steal in helping the Heat secure a victory in the all-important first game of the Finals series.
