2009 Jayhawk Football Camps

Grade levels listed are in relation to the grade the participant will be entering in the fall of 2009. June 4 - Kids Camp (Grades 4-6) General Information This youth camp is a one day camp geared for athletes who will be in the 4th thru 6th grade in the fall of 2009 school year. Campers will be divided into groups by ability and size. The Jayhawk coaching staff has to goal to help each camper sharpen their fundamental skills and pinpoint the best playing position while having fun.
Fees and Enrollment Procedures Fee will be $45 per participant. This includes partial insurance, a t-shirt and lunch.

Check-In & Orientation Check-in and orientation will take place at the Anderson Football Complex starting at 9:15 a.m. Camp will end at 3 p.m.
What to Bring Participants should being work-out gear, cleats and tennis shoes.
June 5 - Kicking Camp (Grades 9-12) General Information This camp will consist of intense instruction from KU Special Teams coaches. Each athlete will learn as much about the fundamentals of kicking and punting as possible.
Fees & Enrollment Procedures Fee will be $100.00 per participant. This includes partial insurance, a t-shirt and lunch.

Check-In & Orientation Check-in and orientation will take place at the Anderson Family Football Complex at 9:00 am. Camp will end at 3 p.m.
What to Bring Participants should bring work-out gear consisting of kicking shoes, gym shorts, T-shirts, socks and a jacket or sweatshirt. Also, bring 2 footballs with your name or school name on them.
June 6 - OL/DL Camp (Grades 9-12) General Information The one-day camp will consist of intense instruction from KU Offensive and Defensive Line coaches.
Fees & Enrollment Procedures Fee will be $45.00 per participant. This includes partial insurance, a t-shirt and lunch.

Jayhawk Skills Camp I and II (June 7-9: Skills Camp I, Grades 10-12) (June 9-11: Skills Camp II, Grades 7-9)
All You Need To Know:
Highlights: Each person is taught and supervised by the University of Kansas Football Staff. Campers can receive instruction both offensively and defensively. All fundamentals of football will be taught. Advanced players will be taught specific techniques to enhance their skill level for next fall.
Beginning players will learn basic football fundamentals geared toward their own level. Group discussion will be held concerning the importance of academic performance. Campers will be grouped according to age, size and ability.
Eligibility: Any young men entering the seventh grade and above (based on grade in fall 2009). Under NCAA rules, any person who has started his senior year of classes is ineligible for camp.
Tuition: The cost of the camp will be $275 for overnight campers and $225 for day campers. Tuition includes a camp T-shirt, lodging and all meals. Pad rental is available at a cost of $25.

Housing and Meals: Campers will be housed in air-conditioned Oliver Hall with a roommate of equivalent age or by request. Roommate requests will only be accepted until May 31. Meals will be all-you-can-eat and served in the cafeteria located in Oliver Hall. Lunch will be provided for the day campers.
Location and Facilities: The Jayhawk Football Camp will be held on the campus of University of Kansas located in Lawrence, Kansas. The camp will utilize Memorial Stadium, Anschutz Indoor practice facilities, Anderson Family Football Complex and the practice fields, all of which serve the University of Kansas Football team.
Arrival and Departure: Check-in for skills camp I will be Sunday, June 7th between 1:00-2:30 p.m. in Oliver Hall located at 1815 Naismith Drive. Check-in for skills camp II will be Tuesday, June 9th between 2:30-4:00 p.m. in Oliver Hall located at 1815 Naismith Drive. What to Bring: Three day supply of T-shirts, athletic shorts, socks, tennis shoes, cleats and other personal toiletries. Overnight campers must bring a pillow, blanket, bed linens (full size), wash cloths, towels, soap and alarm clock. Campers may want to bring extra money for nightly pizza. DO NOT bring an excessive amount of money.
Campers Must Bring Their Football Equipment: Helmets, shoulder pads, cleats, mouthpiece and jersey. Helmets and shoulder pads will be available for rent. See registration form.
Safety and Supervision: Supervision is provided during all aspects of camp 24 hours a day. Every effort is made to ensure safety throughout the camp. Experienced trainers and the athletic training rooms will be available at all times. Each camper will be covered by a group accident insurance policy.
June 13 - Super Jayhawk Camp (Grades 11-12) General Information The Super Jayhawk Camp is a one day camp that gives Junior and Seniors in the Fall of 2009 the ability to receive fundamental skill instruction from the KU Coaching Staff in a non-contact practice environment.
Fees & Enrollment Procedures Fee will be $45.00 per participant. This includes partial insurance, a t-shirt and lunch.
