Dear Jayhawk Alumni, Boosters and Friends, We know that all of us take great pride in the success of Kansas Athletics and certainly do not want to do anything that would tarnish the accomplishments of our Jayhawk student-athletes on and off the field. In an effort to encourage you to communicate with our office, we want to take this opportunity to provide you with a few NCAA reminders for this holiday season: As a Booster, you MAY NOT: Provide an extra benefit to a student-athlete or his/her relatives. NO Christmas/holiday gifts, free/reduced services, money, etc. Make contact with a prospect or their families for the purpose of recruitment or for the arrangement of current/future employment. NO telephone calls, text messages, letters, emails, face-to-face interaction, etc. Entertain student-athletes or their family and friends. NO restaurants, tailgates, etc. Contact the Compliance Office with questions. Include the name, photograph or likeness of a student-athlete to promote/market a commercial product or business. Sell the autograph of a student-athlete or sports team for personal profit or gain. As a Booster, you MAY: Provide an occasional meal to a student-athlete or a team in your home; all meals must be pre-approved by the Compliance Office. Employ a student-athlete! Contact the Compliance Office for more information before hiring. Attend or observe a prospect's athletics contest, provided you do not make any contact with the prospect. Forward information about a prospect to the appropriate KU coach. Arrange for a student-athlete to speak to your club, group, or charitable organization. Contact the Compliance Office to find out how. Obtain student-athlete's autographs. However, you may not pay the student-athlete for the autograph and you may not sell the item for personal profit or gain.
