Dear Fellow Jayhawks, Colleagues and Friends:

Having turned the page to a brand-new year, what better time to look ahead at the future of Kansas Athletics. In that spirit we have released Unparalleled Excellence, our strategic plan for the next five years.

You will note that many of our goals are quite ambitious - a deliberate decision on our part - and we expect you to hold us accountable. Through this plan, Kansas Athletics will take its place among the most respected, well-rounded athletics departments in the country.

If you have been on campus lately, you've seen immense work underway at Allen Fieldhouse, Memorial Stadium and other athletics venues. Unseen has been the 10 months of work by Kansas Athletics staff, student-athletes and others in molding our mission, strategic goals and tactics that will guide us forward. Unparalleled Excellence honors and reflects both the academic and athletic values espoused by the University of Kansas.

With Unparalleled Excellence as our compass, Kansas Athletics is committed to:

  • Being a national leader, never a follower, in setting the highest standards for academics, athletic competition, ethical behavior and fiscal responsibility.

  • Providing Kansas' student-athletes with the best college experience in the country through improved support programs and a re-dedicated focus on the specific needs of our student-athletes inside and outside of athletics.

  • Being responsible to our fans and the community at large, providing a family entertainment experience unparalleled in the country, and an extensive commitment to service and outreach outside our campus borders.

    While the majority of our strategic plan looks to the future, it also respects and honors our strong ties to Kansas' history. Our goal is to maintain, foster and enrich that history, ensuring that anyone who is invested in Kansas Athletics - be they our alumni, Williams Educational Fund donors or business partners - will be proud of their commitment to our rich Jayhawk tradition.

Watch for us to execute these goals over the next five years, taking our Kansas Athletics program to new thresholds of success. With your continued help and support, we look forward to ensuring that there will never be a more exciting time to be a Jayhawk than right now.
