Jackie Berra

Award-winning designer Jackie Berra directs and executes the majority of creative projects for Kansas Athletics from her post in the communications office. The Sammy Award finalist and Bronze Quill Award winner joined Kansas Athletics in August 2011 and provides desktop publishing, graphic design, web design and a host of other creative services for every unit in the department. A native of St. Louis, Berra graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2002. Prior to rejoining the Jayhawks, Berra spent eight years as the senior graphic designer at Protection 1 in Lawrence, the second largest electronic security company in the nation. Berra earned the Bronze Quill Award from the International Association of Business Communications (IABC) in 2003 and more recently was named the Protection 1's Employee of the Quarter (2008) and a finalist in logo design at the 2009 Sammy Awards. Active in the local community, Berra has assisted a number of non-profits in Douglas County and has participated in a variety of philanthropic efforts. Outside of work, she enjoys biking, running, traveling, spending time outdoors and spending time with her family. |
