Nicole Corcoran

Nicole Corcoran joined the University of Kansas Athletics Department as Chief of Staff to the Athletics Director in February, 2009. During her time with Athletics she has provided interim oversight to Ticket Operations, Sales and Marketing, Game-day Experience and Community Outreach. In July, 2011, Corcoran was named Director of Operations for Kansas Athletics. Corcoran came to KU after serving as Press Secretary and Communications Director for Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius from 2002 to 2009. She also served as the Communications Director and Spokesperson for Governor Sebelius' two gubernatorial election campaigns in 2001-2002 and 2006. While working in the governor's office, Corcoran was in charge of message planning and coordination for statewide and national dissemination as well as being the primary spokesperson and point of contact with local, national and international press. Corcoran was also the Public Information Director for Governor Sebelius while she was the state Insurance Commissioner from 1999 to 2001. She graduated from Washburn University in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in communications with a public relations emphasis. Following graduation she worked in the Community Relations/Marketing Department at Stormont-Vail HealthCare in Topeka, Kan., before joining the Insurance Commissioner's office. In 2005, Corcoran was named outstanding alumni by the Washburn University Mass Media Department. Corcoran is married and has two sons. |
