John Hadl

John Hadl, one of the all-time greats in KU football history, plays a significant role in the athletics department fund raising program. Promoted to associate athletics director for development in 1992, Hadl works closely with the Williams Educational Fund in seeking donors for special athletics department projects. A three-year letterman at Kansas, Hadl earned All-America honors at two different positions &endash; as a halfback in 1960 and as a quarterback in 1961. He played 17 seasons of professional football and was selected NFL Man of the Year in 1971. He was also named most valuable player in the NFC during 1973. A native of Lawrence, Hadl (born Feb. 15, 1940), was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1994. Hadl has one son, John, and one daughter, Jackie. |
