Scott Hobbs

Scott Hobbs joined KU athletics in January, 2011 as the director of compliance - education. In his role he directs and coordinates a comprehensive athletics department day-to-day education plan for all NCAA, Big 12 Conference and institutional rules and regulations for student-athletes, coaches, athletics department staff and groups and offices external to athletics, including boosters and fans of Kansas Athletics. Hobbs came to Kansas after spending 1 ½ years as the assistant athletics director for compliance at Boise State. Hobbs served in the same positions at Murray State and Maine before moving to Boise State. Hobbs was born in San Diego, Calif., but attended high school at Longmeadow, Mass. While there he played football, basketball and baseball. He then played four years of football and one season of basketball at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he graduated with a degree in industrial and management engineering. Hobbs earned a law degree from Capital University and a master's in sports administration from Canisius College. He and his wife Christina, adopted a son, Camden in May. Hobbs enjoys golf, racquetball, reading, jogging, crossword puzzles, travel and photography. |
