Jeff Jacobsen

Jeff Jacobsen started at Kansas Athletics in September, 1997 and serves as the staff photographer. His main responsibility is taking photos of all Kansas sports and activities. He is responsible for the photography display and photo galleries for kuathletics.com Before coming to KU, Jacobsen was a staff photographer for the Topeka Capital Journal from 1969-1979 and the Arizona Republic (1979-1983). He then spent 13 years as the chief photographer, director of photography and managing editor for the Topeka Capital Journal (1983-1996). The winner of many national awards, Jacobsen served on the staffs of many national sports photography workshops. Jacobsen, who was born in Lincoln, Neb., attended Topeka (Kan.) High School. He graduated from Washburn in 1976. Jacobsen and his wife Laura, an academic advisor for KAI, live in Topeka. Jacobsen has two adult daughters, Julie and Kelly. He enjoys cycling, running, longboarding and traveling. |
