Larry Keating

Larry Keating joined the staff as Senior Associate Athletics Director at the University of Kansas in August, 2003. In July, 2011, he was named Special Assistant to Athletics Director Sheahon Zenger. He came to KU from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), where he served as Assistant Commissioner for Basketball/Football Operations since July 2001. At the MAAC, Keating was responsible for all aspects of basketball operations, including scheduling, officiating, MAAC Tournament operations and TV coordination, while also managing the conference's football operations. He served as Tournament Director of the 2003 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball East Regional in Albany, N.Y., and serves on the NCAA Men's Basketball Rules Committee. Keating previously served as Director of Athletics at Seton Hall University for 12 years, a span that included the Pirates' run to the championship game of the 1989 NCAA Men's Final Four. At KU, Keating is responsible for scheduling football and men's and women's basketball games, and works with the coaches and administrators for all sports at KU. Keating spent two years as Director of Basketball Operations for the International Basketball League (IBL), where he assisted in player evaluations, draft, contract negotiations and general league management, as well as maintaining league relations with the NBA, NCAA, USA Basketball and other international basketball groups. |
