Justin Mackey

Justin Mackey started at Kansas Athletics in September, 2003 and serves as an asscoiate director for academic and career counseling. His main responsibility is academic counseling for the women's basketball and softball teams. Mackey was also involved in the strategic tutoring program at KU from 2004-08. Prior to assuming his current position in the summer of 2008, Mackey worked in various academic support roles with the men's and women's basketball teams and taught communication studies courses as a graduate teaching assistant at KU. Mackey worked directly with the Jayhawk men's basketball NCAA National Championship team in 2008, which graduated all five senior players. Mackey was born in Bonner Springs, Kan. where he attended Bonner Springs High School and competed in cross country, track and field, basketball and baseball. He graduated from KU in 2004 and received his master's degree here in 2008. Mackey enjoys running, golfing, the New York Yankees, NASCAR and attending as many KU sporting events as humanly possible. He is engaged to Molly Bachand, an administrative assistant in the department. |
