Peter Muther

Position: Assistant Athletics Director -Sales/Marketing/Promoti

Peter Muther joined Kansas Athletics in January, 2003 and has served at several levels of the marketing and sales team. He is now the Assistant Athletics Director for Sales, Marketing and Promotions.

Muther is responsible for the overall development and implementation of all branding, marketing, advertising, and sales initiatives. His primary objective is to increase revenue for the department through ticket sales, hospitality and other promotional revenue generating platforms.

He works closely with Jayhawk IMG Sports Marketing, Licensing, Communications, Development and KU Alumni Association staff to achieve departmental branding, sales and revenue goals.

Muther is a proud graduate of Kansas and the University of Tulsa, earning his Masters degree from KU and undergraduate degree from TU. At Tulsa he was a member of the football team and was a four-time All-Academic WAC selection.

Prior to Kansas, Muther signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs and played one season in NFL Europe for the Frankfurt Galaxy.

Muther is married to the former Kelly Watson, a 1999 KU graduate. Kelly now serves as the Chief of Staff for the Dean of the KU School of Business. The couple have two children--daughter, Avery and son, Miles.
