Kelly Watson Muther

Kelly Watson Muther started at Kansas Athletics in July of 2006 and serves as the director of scholarships and career services. Her main responsibility is providing career education and coaching for student-athletes. Born in Lawrence, Kan., Muther attended Andover High School in Andover, Kan. where she competed in volleyball, basketball and track and field. She graduated from KU in 1999. After graduation she spent six years as a sixth-grade teacher at Wilson Middle School in Plano, Texas. She spent three years as the director of scholarships and special events at KU before moving into scholarships and career services. Muther and her husband Pete, who is an assistant athletics director at KU for sales, marketing and promotions, have one child, Avery. Muther enjoys running, reading, traveling, attending sporting events and spending time with family and friends. She is a member of the Kansas Association of Colleges and Employers. She has enjoyed rejuvenating the endowed scholarship program, developing the career services program for student-athletes, coordinating events such as the annual Jayhawk Senior and Scholar-Athlete Banquet and 110 Years of Kansas Basketball Celebration. |
