Lori Williams

Lori Williams joined the Kansas Athletics staff in September 2009 as the Associate Athletics Director for Risk Management. Williams works with department and university-wide constituencies to ensure effective processes among areas impacted by risk management, including compliance, student services and academic support. Additionally, Williams oversees the compliance and information technology departments and serves as the principal diversity officer for Kansas Athletics. A longtime resident of Houston, Williams came to KU from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) where she was on staff from 2000. While in Indianapolis, Williams was an assistant director of enforcement for three years and was promoted to associate director of enforcement in 2003. In June 2006, she became a director of membership services at the NCAA, and in February 2007, Williams was named the director of academic certification and review at the NCAA Eligibility Center. Prior to her stint with the NCAA, Williams was the assistant director of compliance and legal assistant to the associate commissioner at the Big 12 Conference in Dallas. Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas, Williams earned her bachelor's degree in business administration at Baylor University and then graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Law. She is a member of the University Risk Management and Insurance Association. Williams is also a graduate of the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Females. |
