Kim Clark, Junior, Kansas
Women's 800 Winner
"It's pretty exciting to come out and win this early. I started out really fast, but I sort of died towards the end because of the wind. It was definitely not one of my better times. The main reason my time wasn't as good as it should have been was the wind."
Delisa McClain, Junior, Oklahoma State
Women's Hammer Throw
I've thrown better and I've thrown worse. Today I wasn't at 100 percent, but I am glad that I was able to win."
Desiraye Osburn, Sophomore, Wichita State
Women's 3000 Meter Run
"It feels awesome to win. The distance I raced today was not the normal distance I race usually -- I was surprised to win. The wind wasn't too much of a factor, but I could definitely feel it at different places on the track. I was trying to set a school record today, but when I realized I was not going to get that -- I just tried to keep a good pace to win the race."

Women's 5000 Meter Run
"I have not competed in a long time, so it was nice to get back on the track today. It was exciting to race here at the Kansas Relays. I was trying to focus most of my attention towards my racing and not the wind -- it was really a beautiful day to run."
Mathew Chesang, Junior, Kansas State
Men's 5,000 Meter Run
"It was a really good race, but the wind was a challenge and it made it so I couldn't run my best time today. The person in front of me was dropping out a little bit during the last three laps -- I knew I had to make my move. It feels great to win at such a large event."
David Cheromei, Freshman, Butler County CC
Men's 10,000 Meter Run
"I felt very good today, I just went out there and tried to run my best. I set the pace early on and ran a smooth race."
