The World Series is a Family Feud for Two KU Baseball Alums
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Very few are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to make the dream of playing in the World Series a reality, even at the elite level.
A Major League career can span 15 years of successful baseball and end without the chance of being a World Champion. Each April, 750 players across 30 teams begin a 162-game quest with the same goal in mind, “make it to October.” The six-month regular season schedule sets the table for 10 teams to have the chance at a World Series title.
No one knows that better than former Kansas baseball players Brett Bochy (2008-10) and Kevin Kuntz (2010-13). For them, baseball has always been more than just a game; it’s a way of life, a family affair. The duo grew up with World Championship baseball written in their DNA, and come tonight, one of the families will have the chance to add another ring to its collection.
