KU Soccer Earns NSCAA Academic Team Award

LAWRENCE, Kan. – For the 11th-consecutive season, the Kansas soccer team has earned a Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) it was announced Monday afternoon.
 
Head coach Mark Francis’ squad posted a team GPA of 3.23 during the 2013-14 academic year, marking the 11th-straight season the Jayhawks have earned a 3.0 grade point average or better.
 
The Jayhawks were one of 582 women’s soccer teams (NCAA all divisions) honored by the NSCAA and joined each of the eight other Big 12 squads which were recognized. KU boasted eight Academic All-Big 12 selections this season, all of which were named to the first team. Kansas saw 18 of its 24 student-athletes who were members of the 2013-14 roster boast a cumulative GPA above 3.0 throughout the academic year.
 
Kansas finished the 2014 season at 15-6-0 overall and third in the Big 12 with a 5-3-0 record. The Jayhawks advanced to the NCAA Tournament but fell to the Missouri Tigers in the first round match played in Lawrence.
