Jayhawks Stand Up to Added Boot Camp Challenge

The Program

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Boot Camp for Kansas men’s basketball is a two-week, pre-practice conditioning program that challenges the Jayhawks both physically and mentally.

KU head coach Bill Self stacked on another challenge before concluding the 2014 Boot Camp as the Jayhawks participated in “The Program”, a two-day regime that took the team to even more grueling levels of tests and trials.

“It’s not about you, it’s about your teammates,” KU freshman guard Devonte’ Graham said Friday after he and his teammates wrapped up “The Program”. “It’s not about me, me, me. It’s about we, we, we.”

Founded in 2008, the mission of “The Program” is to develop better leaders and more cohesive teams, according to its website. The organization works with professional and collegiate teams with the objective of helping athletes understand and internalize this reality, and in doing so take their leadership and teamwork skills to the next level – the championship level.
