Kansas Checks In at No. 20 in Latest Coaches’ Poll

LAWRENCE, Kan. – After posting its best start to a season in 10 years, the undefeated Kansas soccer team moved into the top-25 of the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Coaches’ Poll for the first time this year after the weekly rankings were released Tuesday afternoon. The Jayhawks were slotted at No. 20, their highest rank in the poll since 2009.
 
Kansas (6-0) is undefeated after its first six games for just the second time in program history and is coming off a pair of road victories over Colorado and Denver last weekend. Junior Liana Salazar leads the team and the Big 12 conference with six goals on the year. Kansas has put in a program-best 16 goals after its first six matches and has allowed just four opponent goals. Jayhawk goalkeeper Kaitlyn Stroud leads the conference with a .870 save percentage and has already tallied two shutouts on the year.
 
Kansas will look to move to 7-0 for the first time in program history as it takes on CSUN on Friday, Sept. 12 in Lawrence. Kickoff from the Jayhawk Soccer Complex is set for 5 p.m. (CT).
