Football Professional Round Up: Week Four

LAWRENCE, Kan. – With professional football in full swing at the conclusion of the fourth week of games in the National Football League Sunday, 12 Jayhawks continue making their mark at the game’s highest level. A weekly recap of how Kansas football players fared in the professional ranks of the National Football League and the Canadian Football League is below.
 
Jon Cornish – Calgary Stampeders (CFL)
Cornish turned in an all-purpose game in Calgary’s 23-20 victory over Hamilton on Oct. 2. Cornish touched the ball 21 times, totaling 154 yards of total offense. Cornish recorded 14 rushes for 90 yards and caught seven passes for 64 yards. For the year, Cornish now has amassed 550 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 103 attempts.
 
Chris Harris – Denver Broncos
Harris posted a team second-best eight tackles in the Broncos’ 23-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 4. Helping Denver to an undefeated 4-0 start in 2015, Harris has accumulated 17 tackles and one interception.
 
Tanner Hawkinson – San Francisco 49ers 
Hawkinson is a member of the 49ers’ practice squad. San Francisco fell 17-3 to the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 4.  
 
Ben Heeney – Oakland Raiders
Heeney saw time in the Raiders’ 22-20 loss to the Chicago Bears on Oct. 4, but did not record any statistics.

Steven Johnson – Tennessee Titans 
Johnson and the Tennessee Titans were off for the NFL’s fourth week of games. The Titans will resume play on Oct. 11 against the Buffalo Bills.
 
Dexter McDonald – Oakland Raiders
McDonald saw time in the Raiders’ 22-20 loss to the Chicago Bears on Oct. 4, but did not record any statistics.
 
Bradley McDougald – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 
McDougald turned in a team second-best five total tackles, including one tackle-for-loss in the Buccaneers’ 37-23 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 4. So far, McDougald has made 21 tackles in four games.
 
Toben Opurum – New Orleans Saints
Opurum did not see any action in the Saints’ 26-20 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 4.
 
JaCorey Shepherd – Philadelphia Eagles 
Shepherd is sidelined on the Eagles injured reserve list after tearing his ACL in the preseason.
 
Kevin Short – Seattle Seahawks
Short is a member of Seattle’s practice squad. Seattle takes on the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football on Oct. 5.
 
Darrell Stuckey – San Diego Chargers
Stuckey did not record any statistics in the Chargers’ 30-27 win over the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 4.
 
Aqib Talib – Denver Broncos 
Talib made three tackles, including a tackle behind the line-of-scrimmage in the Broncos’ 23-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 4. In the Broncos’ undefeated start, Talib has recorded 13 tackles and two interceptions – one which was returned for a touchdown.
