Jayhawks Travel To Texas Tech for Final Fall Tournament

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s tennis will travel to Lubbock, Texas for the Texas Tech Invitational Nov. 6-8. Five Jayhawks will represent the program in its team competition of the fall 2015 portion of its schedule, with matches set to begin each day at 9 a.m., at the McLeod Tennis Center.
 
“It is great to get out and compete again as a team,” said KU head coach Todd Chapman. “We are excited for the challenges this weekend’ tournament will bring to the team. Being our last team event for the fall, we hope to end the fall season on a high note.”
 
Representing Kansas at the Texas Tech Invitational will be senior Maria Jose Cardona, sophomores Summer Collins and Smith Hinton and freshmen Nina Khmelnitckaia and Janet Koch.
 
Both Hinton and Khmelnitckaia enter the Texas Tech Invitational with an 8-4 mark in singles action during the fall slate. Koch has recorded a 6-5 ledger, while Collins has recorded a 5-5 record.
