Volleyball Finishes Season with Program-Best No. 4 Ranking

LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kansas volleyball finished the season unprecedented on all accounts after the final AVCA Coaches Poll was released on Monday.

The NCAA semifinalist Jayhawks (30-3) received a No. 4 ranking in the final poll, setting a program record for highest overall ranking and highest ranking to finish a season. Kansas has been ranked in the top-25 for a program-record 14 consecutive weeks, including 10 consecutive weeks in the top-10. KU’s previous program-high in the AVCA Coaches Poll was No. 7 on Oct. 19, and the previous program-high in the final ranking of the season was No. 17 in 2013.  

Kansas set a program record for winning percentage (.909) after advancing to the NCAA Championship semifinals for the first time by defeating overall No. 1 seed USC in the Elite Eight before falling to eventual national champion Nebraska in four sets in the semifinals. KU’s three losses this season were against the two teams that competed in the NCAA Championship final – No. 2 Texas and No. 1 Nebraska.

The Jayhawks also finished with a program-best No. 8 ranking in the final NCAA RPI.
