LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas women’s golf team will continue its spring season as the Jayhawks will head to Tucson, Arizona and compete in the Arizona Wildcat Invitational at the Sewailo Golf Club March 16-17.

The Jayhawks will be represented by senior Minami Levonowich, junior Yupaporn Kawinpakorn, sophomore Pornvipa Sakdee, senior Gabriella DiMarco, freshman Pitsinee Winyarat. KU freshman Kallie Gonzales will compete as an individual.

The Arizona Wildcat Invitational will host a 15-team field that will include Arizona, Campbell, Houston, Idaho, Kansas, Long Beach State, Michigan, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UNLV, USC, Washington State and Wisconsin.

Kansas is coming off a 12th-place finish at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate in New Orleans. It was KU’s first non-top five finish of the 2014-15 season.

“There will be a lot of teams there that will be good to compete against,” Kansas coach Erin O’Neil said. “The biggest thing we need to work on is our short game. That’s where we struggled and gave the most shots away at New Orleans, so it’s been nice that the weather has been warm the last week to 10 days. We have really focused on getting out and working on our putting and chipping and playing as much as we can.”

The Sewailo Golf Club is a par-72 6,386 yard golf course known for having picturesque lakes and streams. The tournament will begin on March 16th as the Jayhawks will pay 36-holes and then the tournament will conclude March 17th for the final 18-holes will be played.
