Jayhawks Kickoff Big 12 Slate with Fun-Filled Series

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Predicted to be a near-perfect weekend with temperatures in the mid-60s, Kansas Athletics announces a fun-filled weekend surrounding the softball diamond.
 
No. 22 Kansas welcomes Texas to Arrocha Ballpark at Rock Chalk Park for a three-game series, its first of the 2015 Big 12 Conference slate, March 27-29.
 
The Jayhawks open the weekend with Salute to Services Night on Friday. All military, fire, police and medical personnel will receive $5 admission to the game against the Longhorns. There will also be a flag give away while supplies last.   
 
The action-packed weekend continues with Party in the Park on Saturday, March 28, which will include inflatables and a live band prior to first pitch. The fun heads inside the stadium with Junior Jayhawk Day. Members receive free admission with $5 adult tickets. Junior Jayhawk members will also get to participate in Kids Take Over the Ballpark and can sign up through emails that will be sent out.  
 
On Saturday, the Jayhawks will welcome back Kansas softball alumni for a special alumni day at their brand-new facility. There will be a mini softball helmet giveaway to all fans in attendance while supplies last.  
 
Sunday’s finale is a crowd favorite as Kansas invites fans to bring out their furry friends for Bark in the Park. All dogs will receive free admission with a donation to the Lawrence Humane Society and dog bandanas will be given away while supplies last.
 
The final day of the Texas series is Sunday Fun Day; tickets are two for the price of one. Prior to the game on Sunday, the third set of 2015 Kansas softball trading cards will be handed out and following the game children will be allowed to run the bases and get autographs from the Jayhawks.
