Jayhawks Enjoy KU Day at the K

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas head football coach David Beaty took part in “KU Day at the K” Sunday evening as the Kansas City Royals helped promote Kansas Athletics at Kauffman Stadium before a nationally-televised ESPN audience.

KU Spirit Squad members, Big Jay and Baby Jay mingled and took photos with many Jayhawk fans prior to the Royals and Los Angeles Angels baseball game. Beaty threw out the ceremonial first pitch to one of KU’s top donors and Williams Education Fund member Dana Anderson before the contest.

“What an honor to get out on the diamond at Kaufman Stadium and represent the Jayhawk nation tonight,” Beaty said. “I had a great catcher out there in Dana Anderson to make me look good.”

Later, Beaty also appeared on the Royals’ radio broadcast during the contest.
