Kansas Athletics Announces Gameday Information Leading Up to Saturday’s Football Home-Opener

Kansas Football Fan Guide

LAWRENCE, Kan. – With the 2015 Kansas football season slated to kickoff Saturday morning, Kansas Athletics announced some helpful hints and reminders, including a newly added Hawk Walk and upgraded wireless capabilities, to enhance Jayhawk fans’ gameday experience in and around Memorial Stadium. KU officially opens the David Beaty era of Kansas football by hosting South Dakota State in the 2015 season-opener.

HAWK WALK
The Jayhawk football team, led by Beaty, will make its way to the stadium by walking down Campanile Hill approximately three hours prior to kick off before each home game. KU fans are encouraged to line the hill and cheer on their Jayhawks as they head to the locker room to get dressed out for that week’s game.

WIRELESS
AT&T* has boosted its mobile Internet coverage on the KU Lawrence Campus in Memorial Stadium by installing new Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) to give customers a better wireless experience during games. The AT&T DAS is open to other wireless companies, providing improved coverage to all students, faculty, staff and visitors if their provider elects to join the DAS network. The network upgrade consists of strategically placed antennas that distribute AT&T’s wireless network coverage throughout each respective venue.  It can provide stronger, more consistent wireless coverage to customers, so they don’t have to worry about their service getting stuck in a traffic jam of other people’s calls, texts and posts.

TICKETS
All ticket booths will open three hours prior to kickoff and remain open until halftime. Ticket offices are located on the west side at the entrance of the press box, in the North Bowl area and at the southeast corner of Memorial Stadium. Children 2 and under are admitted with parent/guardian without a ticket, and will be required to sit on a lap. Patrons using youth tickets must be 17 years old or younger. For ticket information during the week call 1-800-34-HAWKS, (785) 864-3141 or log onto KUAthletics.com.

GATES
Gates for students open two hours prior to kickoff, gates for the general public open one and a half hours before kickoff. Fans are allowed to leave and re-enter at halftime after receiving a re-entry stamp at most gates.

STUDENT ENTRANCE
The student entrance is located on the northeast side of Memorial Stadium. All student ticket holders must enter at this location. As a reminder, the student entrance gates will open two hours prior to kickoff.

HY-VEE HAWK ZONE
Located on the football practice fields, the Hy-Vee Hawk Zone is open from two and half hours before kickoff until 30 minutes after the start of the game. The Hy-Vee Hawk Zone features inflatable games, face painters, balloon artists, poster making and more.

FAMILY FUN ZONE
The Family Fun Zone is located outside the north bowl of Memorial Stadium and is open from kickoff until the end of the third quarter.
