Superheroes Unite to Defend Allen Fieldhouse Against Cowgirls
LAWRENCE, Kan. – On Sunday, the superheroes of Lawrence will unite inside Allen Fieldhouse for Kansas women’s basketball’s annual Superhero Day and help the Super Jayhawks defend their home court against the Oklahoma State Cowgirls.
A day that has quickly become a favorite for fans of all ages, Superhero Day is a special day filled with action-packed fun. Children under 13 that attend the game dressed as their favorite superhero will receive $3 admission and may partake in a superhero parade on James Naismith Court during halftime.
Upon entrance, all fans will receive a special Kansas superhero mask to commemorate the 2016 Superhero Day with the Jayhawks. Tickets for the superhero contest against the Cowgirls start at $8 for general admission. For group ticket information contact the Sales and Service office at 785-864-6216.
Prior to the game, superheroes of all ages can enjoy the fun zone, which includes a photo booth, inflatables, poster creation station and $1 cookie decorating station. A face painter and balloon artist will be on the concourse before tipoff creating more action-packed superhero fun. The Bat mobile will be outside the Kansas Athletics Ticket Office for photos and tours, weather permitting.
Centerplate, KU’s concession stand, will offer special $1 Coke floats during the game against Oklahoma State on Sunday.
Along with Superhero Day, Kansas will be hosting Junior Jayhawk Day, which includes a milk and cookie party along with a cheer clinic hosted by the KU spirit squad.
