All-American Lokedi was the highest-placing Jayhawk at the 2016 Pre-National Invitational, finishing the 6K race in 10th overall with a time of 20:26.3. Lokedi’s performance helped the KU women to a 13th-place team finish. Lokedi stayed in the lead pack through the halfway point of the race, but Michigan’s Erin Finn pulled away from the group and the cluster began to thin out. Lokedi came through the finish in a time of 20:26.3, over 11 seconds faster than her 6K race two weeks ago at the Rim Rock Classic.

Moos was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week after his booming performance in Saturday’s game against Baylor. Moos averaged a career-best 50.3 yards per punt at Baylor on eight punts. Four of those punts went 50 yards or more, including a career-long 82-yard boot on the first punt of the game, which is good for the fifth-longest punt in Kansas history. In the third quarter, he also sent a ball 73 yards downfield.

Payne helped extend KU’s winning streak to five matches as the sixth-ranked Jayhawks improved to 17-2 and 6-1 in the Big 12 with wins over top-30 NCAA RPI ranked teams in Kansas State and at TCU. Against Kansas State, she tallied 14 points during KU’s three-set victory over the Wildcats with 11 kills, six digs, four blocks and an ace. Against TCU, the 2015 All-American nearly recorded a triple-double with 16 kills (.371 hitting %), 10 digs and seven blocks for her fifth double-double of the season.

Wait led the Big 12 in digs per set during week eight, averaging an impressive 6.50 digs/set. Wait recorded 25 digs in three sets at TCU for the most digs of any Big 12 player during week eight, the most digs in a three-set match during Big 12 play, and the third-most digs overall during Big 12 play. She also posted 14 digs during KU’s three-set sweep over Kansas State on Wednesday. Six of her 14 digs during the Sunflower Showdown were converted into kills. Now with 1,724 career digs, Wait ranks second on KU’s all-time digs list.
