The Jayhawks enter this weekend’s matches against North Texas and Colorado 4-0 after defeating both Arkansas and Purdue 4-1 in their most recent matches. QUOTES FROM COACH:
On freshman Anastasiya Rychagova winning this week’s Big 12 Player of the Week award:
“It is always great to see the girls rewarded for their hard work and dedication. We hope this is the beginning of a trend for the future.”

On what he hopes to see out of his team this weekend:
“We are constantly preaching the development of each individual and our team. So, there are things each of them needs to continue to work on in their game, but as a team, I want to see them continue to compete the way we did last weekend. I thought they did a great job of overcoming adversity, and that is something we hope to build on this weekend.”

THE SERIES: KANSAS vs. NORTH TEXAS
North Texas leads the all-time series with Kansas (4-0, 0-0 Big 12), 4-0. The last match-up between the two schools was in 2015 when the Jayhawks trailed the Ealges 3-4.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Four freshmen newcomers will be a large part of any success the team may find throughout the year, entering the spring after combining for a 21-17 record in head-to-head matches in the fall. Additionally, the freshmen tandem of Maria Kononova and Tamuna Kutubidze put together an 8-4 doubles mark. Seniors Anastasiya Shestakova and Kamilla Galieva entered the season after collecting eight and nine tournament wins, respectively.

THE SERIES: KANSAS vs. COLORADO
Kansas (4-0, 0-0 Big 12) leads the all-time series with Colorado, 26-18. The last match-up between the two schools was in 2015 when the Buffaloes topped the Jayhawks, 4-2, in Boulder.

SCOUTING THE BUFFALOES
Colorado’s Tina Bokhua made headlines earlier this week by becoming the first CU tennis player to earn Pac-12 Player of the Week honors after a pair of singles wins atop the team’s lineup last week. Nuria Ormeño Ruiz continues her big season and has a 14-3 overall record, including 4-1 between the top two positions in the singles lineup.

UP NEXT
KU will remain at home in Lawrence for the next month to face Wichita State (Feb. 26), New Mexico (Feb. 28), SMU (Mar. 4), Denver (Mar. 6) and Baylor (Mar. 9).
