Three Jayhawks to Participate in NBA Draft Combine This Week

CHICAGO – The University of Kansas basketball program will be represented by Perry Ellis, Wayne Selden Jr., and Cheick Diallo at the 2016 NBA Draft Combine starting this week in Chicago, May 11-15. The combine will televised on ESPN2 on Thursday and Friday, and NBATV on Saturday and Sunday.

Of the 70 potential draft picks invited to Chicago, Kansas is one of just four college programs to send three or more players to the combine, with Kentucky (four), Maryland (four) and North Carolina (three).

Ellis, Selden and Diallo are looking to join a group of 19 Jayhawks who competed at the NBA level during the 2015-16 season. From Wednesday through Sunday, the trio will be participating in a variety of tests, drills and interviews aimed to provide NBA teams with the most accurate information heading into the draft.

A new rule that applies to this year’s Draft allows players to go through the pre-draft process all the way through the combine. Players who haven’t signed with agents have 10 days (May 25) after the combine to withdraw from the Draft.
