Peck Advances in U.S. Open Qualifier

WICHITA, Kan. – Following a day that consisted of low scores for the top of the leaderboard, Kansas senior Connor Peck advanced to the sectional qualifying round for the 2016 U.S. Open Wednesday. He finished the day in sole possession of third-place, where he shot a three-under, 68, at Wichita Country Club.

On his scorecard, Peck was just one of four golfers to record at least five birdies on the day, which for him also included three birdies carded on the front-nine. With only four qualifying spots, Peck was one of four players amongst the 75-player field to advance to the next qualifying round, which will take place on Monday, June 6th.

The sectional qualifying round will occur at various site throughout the United States. Should Peck advance, he will then have the opportunity to compete at the 2016 U.S. Open Championship, which will be held June 16-19 at Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh, Pa.
