LAWRENCE, Kan. – The faces of Kansas basketball may change, but the great expectations don’t.

Members of the local media were introduced to one of KU’s newest faces on Wednesday – Josh Jackson, the nation’s top-ranked recruit in the class of 2016.

“I picked KU because I felt it would better me the most on and off the court – as a man and as a player,” Jackson said to the swarm of media. “I felt like I could really trust the coaching staff. I love all the guys on the team – guys play for the right reason. There is a family feeling here.”

During his second day of getting acclimated to his new routine of classes and team activities in Lawrence, Jackson’s competitive spirit and work ethic was already evident.

“A lot of guys in my position mainly worry about scoring and looking good, but to me and the rest of the guys on this team it’s all about winning,” Jackson said. “Each and every one of us will do what we have to do to make sure that happens.”

Jackson (6-foot-8, 205 pounds) is the second No. 1 rated player to sign with Kansas in the past three seasons. Jackson, No. 1 by Rivals.com and 247Sports, joins current Minnesota Timberwolves standout Andrew Wiggins who played at KU in 2013-14.
