Kawinpakorn survives cut; looks to advance to Stage II

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Former Kansas women’s golfer Yupaporn “Mook” Kawinpakorn finished the third day of the Stage 1 LPGA and Symetra Tour Qualifying School Saturday with a 1-over, 73 on the Gary Player Course at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.
 
After three rounds, Kawinpakorn is tied for 64th with a 2-over, 218. She opened the day with a 2-under performance on the front nine, but three bogeys on the back nine put Kawinpakorn over par on the day.  
 
The 54-hole cut was made at 6-over, 222 and 135 players will tee it up on Sunday on the Dinah Shore Course, which is course Kawinpakorn played on the first day of the event and fired a three-over, 75. The lowest 90 scores and ties after final-round play on Sunday will advance to Stage II of LPGA Qualifying Tournament, the week of October 17-23 in Venice, Florida. 
 
Kawinpakorn opens play on Sunday at the first tee in group 21 at 10:55 a.m. CT.
