Ashley Pankey Soccer

CHILLIN’ – Before KU soccer’s exhibition match against Creighton on Friday, August 12, senior Ashley Pankey caught up on her social media while soaking her aching shins in a bucket of ice water in the training room at Rock Chalk Park. The forward went on to score one of KU’s three goals in the victory over the Bluejays.

Sun in the eyes of KU Soccer Players

SUNNYSIDE – The setting sun on Friday, August 12, made it difficult for seniors Jackie Georgoulis and Ashley Pankey, as well as the Creighton defense, to see a Jayhawk corner kick at Rock Chalk Park. KU won the exhibition match 3-0.

Cyclone drying system for football equipment

AIR TIME – Following a KU football practice, sweaty gear was dried on a Cyclone Drying Systems Tower. With air heated to 95-105 degrees circulating through 50 outlets, the equipment dries in 20-30 minutes to be ready for the next practice.

RAT-A-TAT-TAT – The rapid succession of knocking, tapping and cracking sounds heard throughout the KU campus on Tuesday, August 16, was part of the daily practice routine for the KU Band’s drum line as they prepared for the season-opening football game against Rhode Island on Saturday, September 3.
