On Sunday evening in Kanas City, the senior midfielder from Arlington Heights, Illinois, tallied two early assists to give the Jayhawks the lead over UMKC. With 90 seconds remaining on the clock, Georgoulis sent a rocket into the back of the net from more than 20 yards out to complete the 3-0 win over the Kangaroos. The goal was her first of the season and third of her KU career. Georgoulis’ performance marked the first one-goal, two-assist outing by a Jayhawk since Liana Salazar matched the feat against Iowa State last season.

Gonzalez, a junior transfer from Cedar Hill, Texas, scored the first Jayhawk touchdown on Saturday against Ohio with a 99-yard kickoff return, the fifth-longest in program history. Gonzalez’s breakaway speed allowed him to split the Bobcats’ special teams unit and streak down the field untouched. The return marked the first special teams touchdown of his career and was part of 201 total kick return yards, tied for second-most in a single game in KU history. Gonzalez recorded five receptions for a total of 45 yards in addition to his return touchdown.

Payne recorded 25 kills on a season-best .487 hitting percentage during Saturday’s 3-0 sweep of Northern Iowa. The senior right side hitter from Austin, Texas’ 25-kill performance was just one kill shy of her career high. Along with her impressive kill number and hitting percentage, she tallied three blocks against the Panthers. On the season, Payne has recorded 27 blocks, good for second on the team leaderboard, as well as a team-best 124 kills.

Kansas men’s golf kicked of its 2016-17 season this week, where it was led by sophomore Charlie Hillier, who shot two rounds under par to find himself tied for eighth place in the 82-golfer field. Hillier, a native of Te Puke, New Zealand, racked up the seventh top-10 finish of his career by shooting a KU-best 214 (-2) and was the only Jayhawk to come out of the weekend under par. Kansas finished in the middle of the 14-team field that included four top-25 opponents, including No. 22 South Florida which finished 18 strokes behind the Jayhawks.
