RCW: Football kicks off semester with visit to LMH

The Kansas football team kicked off this year’s community service efforts by paying a visit to patients at Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Friday September 2.  Jayhawk players made the rounds chatting with LMH patients and family members while distributing some Jayhawk flags along the way.  The players even got the chance to hold several newborn babies while they interacted with fans. This event, along with many others, gives KU student-athletes a chance to interact with the community that supports them.

KU Leads, the Kansas Jayhawks’ student-athlete development unit,  focuses on leadership training, community engagement, traditions and professional development to enhance the student-athlete experience. Within KU Leads, the Kansas K Club – the department’s letterwinners association – has the mission is to help preserve the history and traditions of Kansas Athletics, support current student-athletes, and connect former participants, coaches, student athletic trainers and managers of varsity sports at the University of Kansas.
