 LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s basketball continues its two-game stretch away from home at Oklahoma State on Wednesday, Jan. 25, inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. Tipoff against the Cowgirls is slated for 7 p.m., Central.

• Wednesday’s contest is the first meeting between Kansas and Oklahoma State in 2017. Oklahoma State has won the last nine matchups against KU. 
• OSU has a narrow 33-31 lead in the all-time series, which began in 1976. Kansas is 13-14 when playing the Cowgirls inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
• Six of Kansas’ first seven Big 12 Conference games of 2017 were against nationally-ranked opponents. Kansas is 0-6 against teams ranked in the top 25 this season.
• Kansas’ bench is averaging 24.3 points per game and recorded its best effort of the season after providing 42 points against UC Riverside (12/21). KU’s reserves have contributed 30 or more points in five contests, most recently 36 against TCU (1/22).

• KU forced Texas (1/4) to turn the ball over 31 times, a season-high mark for the Jayhawks’ defense. Kansas leads the league in turnovers forced with 19.2 per game.
• Redshirt junior guard Jessica Washington has led all scorers in five of eight Big 12 contests in 2017. Washington leads the league in scoring in Big 12 only games with 19.5 points per contest and is ranked fifth in the conference in all games with 15.9 points per game.
• Washington made 7-of-10 (.700) attempts from the 3-point line at K-State (1/11) and ended the contest one triple shy of tying KU’s single-game record of eight set in 1996 by Charisse Sampson. 

ABOUT THE JAYHAWKS
Kansas heads back on the road to continue Big 12 Conference play with the second of two-straight road games at Oklahoma State on Wednesday night. During the first meeting of the year between the two programs, KU looks to snap its eight-game losing skid. The Jayhawks head into the week facing just their third opponent not among the national rankings in their last nine games. KU is 6-13 on the season and has a 0-8 mark in league play. 

The Jayhawks are averaging 61.9 points per game with a scoring margin of -9.9. KU is making 33.3 percent of its shots from the field, while converting 29.2 percent of its attempts from the 3-point line. Kansas is averaging 40.0 boards per game. The Jayhawks have also swiped 9.3 steals per contest, good for the third-most by any team in the conference. 

Redshirt junior guard Jessica Washington leads the team with 15.9 points per game behind 33.1 percent shooting from the field. During Big 12 Conference play, Washington is tops in the league with 19.5 points per game after leading all scorers in five of her last eight outings. In conference action, Washington is connecting on 35.0 percent of her attempts, including 40.4 percent of her shots from long range. Redshirt sophomore guard McKenzie Calvert is also averaging double digits for the season with 11.9 points per game. 

Sophomore guard Kylee Kopatich is third on the squad with 9.1 points per game and has recorded double-digit scoring performances in five of her last six starts. 

SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
Oklahoma State started the 2016-17 campaign with a 10-game winning streak before suffering its first loss of the season to No. 11 Oregon State. On the year, the Cowgirls have a 12-6 mark and a 2-5 record in Big 12 Conference action. 

The Cowgirls are averaging 66.8 points per game heading into the game against the Jayhawks and have a +6.4 scoring margin. OSU is connecting on 42.1 percent of its shots from the field and 29.3 percent from long range. Defensively, Oklahoma State is averaging 41.9 rebounds, 6.6 steals and 4.5 blocks per game.

Junior center Kaylee Jensen is pacing OSU’s offense with a team-high 18.6 points per game. Jensen is shooting 49.6 percent from the field and grabbing 10.2 boards per game. She also leads the team with 35 blocks in 2017. Sophomore guard Karli Wheeler is averaging 11.4 points per game, while shooting 37.6 percent from the field, including 34 percent from long range. Junior center Mandy Coleman is the final Cowgirl scoring double figures in 2017 with 10.7 points per game. 

THIS DAY IN KU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HISTORY
Record on Jan. 25: 10-3
Wednesday night’s contest is the 14th time in program history that Kansas has played on Jan. 25. On this day in 2012, forward Carolyn Davis scored a season-high 34 points as the Jayhawks downed No. 21 Texas Tech, 62-43, inside Allen Fieldhouse.
