 LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s basketball returns to the Lonestar State for its regular-season finale against Texas Tech on Saturday, Feb. 18. Tipoff for the second meeting of the season between the Jayhawks and the Lady Raiders is set for 2 p.m., on FOX Sports Southwest + and the Jayhawk Radio Network.

• Saturday’s contest is the second meeting between Kansas and Texas Tech in 2017.  KU snapped its two-game losing skid to the Lady Raiders with a 66-60 victory in the first matchup earlier this season (1/28). 
• Texas Tech has a 19-9 lead in the all-time series, which began in 1978. Kansas is 4-9 when playing the Lady Raiders in Lubbock.
• Six of Kansas’ first seven Big 12 Conference games of 2017 were against nationally-ranked opponents. Kansas is 0-8 against teams ranked in the top 25 this season.
• When Brandon Schneider-coached teams are leading with less than five minutes to play, his overall record is 357-12, and 11-0 at Kansas.
• KU forced Texas (1/4) to turn the ball over 31 times, a season-high mark for the Jayhawks’ defense. Kansas leads the league in turnovers forced with 19.0 per game.
• Kansas has forced 20 or more turnovers in eight of 14 Big 12 contests this season. 
• Redshirt junior guard Jessica Washington has led all scorers in eight of 14 Big 12 contests in 2017. Washington leads the league in scoring in Big 12-only games with 19.4 points per contest and is ranked third in the conference in all games with 16.7 points per game.
• Washington made 7-of-10 (.700) attempts from the 3-point line at K-State (1/11) and ended the contest one triple shy of tying KU’s single-game record of eight set in 1996 by Charisse Sampson. At Oklahoma State (1/25), Washington made 6-of-12 attempts from long range for her second game shooting 50 percent or higher with 10 or more attempts from the 3-point line.

ABOUT THE JAYHAWKS
Kansas enters its final meeting of the regular season with Texas Tech and  is looking to complete its first Big 12 Conference sweep of the season with a victory on the road against the Lady Raiders. KU heads to Lubbock with a 8-17 mark overall and a 2-12 record in Big 12 Conference action. 

The Jayhawks are averaging 61.6 points per game with a scoring margin of -10.0. KU is making 33.5 percent of its shots from the field, while converting 30.4 percent of its attempts from the 3-point line. Kansas is averaging 38.2 boards per game. The Jayhawks have also swiped 9.3 steals per contest, good for the second-most by any team in the conference. 

Redshirt junior guard Jessica Washington has stormed onto the hardwood and paced KU’s offense in 2016-17. Washington leads the league in scoring in conference play with 19.4 points per game. She is third in the Big 12 in scoring on the season with 16.7 points per game. She has netted double figures in 19 games this season, including 13 of her 14 outings in conference play. 

Washington isn’t the only Jayhawk aiding KU’s offensive efforts in 2016-17. Sophomore guard Kylee Kopatich is also among the top scorers this season with 9.6 points per game. Seniors Timeka O’Neal and Caelynn Manning-Allen are both coming off of double-digit scoring efforts against Oklahoma State (2/8) and are averaging 5.1 and 4.9 points per game, respectively. 

SCOUTING THE LADY RAIDERS
Texas Tech enters the matchup on a nine-game losing skid after opening league play with three wins its first five games. The Lady Raiders are 11-14 on the season, including a 3-11 mark in conference action. TTU is 10-4 when playing at home this season.

The Lady Raiders are averaging 68.1 points per game and have a +1.6 scoring margin. Texas Tech is shooting 43.0 percent from the field and is converting 38.0 percent of its attempts from the 3-point arc. Defensively, TTU is averaging 39.0 rebounds, 5.9 steals and 4.8 blocks per game. 

Sophomore guard Recee’ Caldwell is one of three Lady Raiders averaging double figures and leads the squad with 14.7 points per game behind a 37.6 field goal percentage. Caldwell also leads the team with 112 assists. Freshman guard Arella Guirantes is netting 10.3 points per game, while junior center Jada Terry is scoring 10.5 points per contest. Defensively, Terry leads the squad with 6.6 rebounds per game and has recorded 34 blocks, second-most on the team.

THIS DAY IN KU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HISTORY
Record on Feb. 18: 9-5
Saturday’s contest is the 15th time in program history that Kansas has played on Feb. 18. On this day in 2006, Kansas picked up its first road win of the season by downing Iowa State, 57-56, in overtime.  The win completed Kansas’ first season sweep of the Cyclones since 2000. Erica Hallman led all KU scorers with 18 points, while Crystal Kemp and Maria Zinic finished with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

RISING IN THE RANKS
After recording four blocks at Oklahoma State (1/25), senior forward Caelynn Manning-Allen moved into ninth place all-time in Kansas’ record book for career blocks. Manning-Allen has swatted away 112 blocks in her career and needs two more to move into eighth place. Senior Timeka O’Neal has a career 3-point field goal average of 39.8 (82-of-206), which is the second-best shooting percentage from long range and surpasses her former teammate Natalie Knight’s mark of 38.2 percent and behind Sandy Shaw’s 43.6 career average.
