Kansas women’s golf heads to Baton Rouge

LAWRENCE, Kan. – After finishing 18th in the Briar’s Creek Invitational in Johns Island, South Carolina, March 20-21, the Jayhawks will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, March 24-26 to participate in the LSU Tiger Golf Classic to complete the team’s busy spring break.
 
Junior Pitsinee Winyarat will be playing in the first position, following a +17 performance that landed her in a tie for 72nd place at the Briar’s Creek Invitational.
 
Following Winyarat will be Ariadna Fonseca Diaz, who recorded a 10-over following three rounds in this past week’s event finishing in a tie for 56th.
 
Freshman Yi-Tsen Chou, sophomore Chomchana Phuchanbanchob and freshman Annika Cedo will round out the Kansas lineup.
 
The field that will be competing against KU in the LSU Tiger Golf Classic is headlined by two GolfStat.com top-25 ranked teams, No. 11 Duke and No. 15 Arkansas. The rest of the field includes the tournament host LSU, Clemson, Denver, Kentucky, Missouri, NC State, Oklahoma State, SMU, Tulane, UNC Wilmington, UTSA and Washington.
 
The LSU Tiger Golf Classic will be played at the University Club, a 6,247-yard, par-72 course that is home to the LSU women’s and men’s golf teams.
 
The event will begin with 8:30 a.m. tee times Friday and Saturday and an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start to begin the final round on Sunday.
