Weather alters Kansas’ series with Baylor

LAWRENCE, Kan. – With rain showers forecasted for most of the evening in the Lawrence area, Kansas softball has moved its Big 12 Conference opener against Baylor to Saturday afternoon.

Kansas will now play a doubleheader against the No. 14 Lady Bears on Saturday, March 25, starting at 2 p.m. The second game will start 30 minutes following the first game’s conclusion and the series will conclude on Sunday, March 26 at 12 p.m.

On Saturday, KU will host its annual ‘Jayhawks for a Cure’ game with Rock Chalk Park turning orange for kidney cancer awareness. There will be a silent auction on the concourse prior to first pitch with all proceeds going to raise awareness for kidney cancer. Anyone who wears orange to the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday will receive $5 admission. Orange t-shirts will also be given away to fans in attendance, while supplies last.

All three games of the series against nationally-ranked Baylor will air on the Jayhawk Radio Network, while the first two games of the weekend will also be broadcast on the Jayhawk Television Network/ESPN3.
