Hawks, Cops and Kids set for May 6

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Athletics, along with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lawrence are teaming up to host the annual Hawks, Cops and Kids event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 6 at Robinson Gymnasium on the University of Kansas Campus.
 
Local law enforcement and KU student-athletes will join together to host this fun-filled free event. The day will be full of activities such as football, soccer and volleyball. Participants will also have the opportunity to talk about personal safety, bullying, and health and wellness. The main focuses of the day are to learn about teamwork, how to make smart and healthy choices.
 
All participants will be provided lunch and receive a free ticket to the Kansas baseball game against Texas Southern at 2 p.m., as well as a free T-Shirt. Friends and family can purchase discounted tickets to the baseball game once the child is signed up. Applications will be accepted until the event date.
