Down Under – In two days of relief pitching against Texas inside Hoglund Ballpark on Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2, Stephen Villines picked up his 31st and 32nd saves of his KU career. The submariner struck out three of the five batters he faced on Saturday to tie Don Czyz for the Jayhawks’ all-time save record and threw a perfect ninth inning Sunday to elevate the senior closer to the top of the career saves list.

Great Escape – After the final out of the 5-4 victory over Texas on Sunday, April 2, KU players scrambled out of the Hoglund Ballpark dugout any way they could to join the celebration. That included leaps over the protective dugout fencing by senior John Remick and junior Jeider Rincon after the Jayhawks won the final two games of the three-game weekend series against the Longhorns.

Pumped – KU coach Ritch Price chest bumped closer Stephen Villines after the senior relief pitcher threw a perfect ninth inning for the save in a 5-4 victory over Texas on Sunday, April 2, inside Hoglund Ballpark. Villines’ save was the 32nd of his career to surpass the previous Jayhawks’ record held by Don Czyz.

Charting a Course – Football academic counselor Stephanie Mahal helped redshirt freshman long snapper Kolin Hays and redshirt freshman punter Kyle Thompson with their online enrollment for the 2017 fall semester on Thursday, March 30, in the Student-Athlete Support Services computer lab inside the Anderson Family Strength and Conditioning Center.

Wheeling and Dealing – Senior defensive tackle DeeIsaac Davis wheeled his way around an offensive lineman dummy with the intent of dealing out a hard hit on an opponent during KU’s football practice inside Memorial Stadium on Thursday, March 30.
