LAWRENCE, Kan. – With Kansas football preparing for the 2017 Big 12 Conference Football Media Days in Frisco, Texas at the Ford Center at the Star, July 17-18, Kansas Athletics released the Jayhawks’ 2017 football media guide. The book – a 208-page collection of everything Kansas football – includes in-depth player and coach biographies, opponent information, a review of the 2016 season, record book and KU football history, and is available for purchase at KUStore.com or online viewing.

Highlighting recent facility improvements in the program’s Anderson Family Football Complex, namely the freshly redesigned high-tech locker room, the guide’s front cover features junior defensive end Dorance Armstrong Jr., redshirt-junior linebacker Joe Dineen Jr., sophomore safety Mike Lee, junior wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. and junior defensive tackle Daniel Wise standing below the illuminated Jayhawk that adorns the locker room’s ceiling. Below the five Jayhawks is third-year head coach David Beaty’s team mantra – #EarnIt – which embodies the team’s hardworking and blue collar mentality.

The media guide’s back cover features five more Jayhawks looking to make an impact on the field in 2017, including a trio of wide receivers; junior Jeremiah Booker, sophomore Daylon Charlot and senior Bobby Hartzog Jr., along with sophomore offensive linemen Hakeem Adeniji and Mesa Ribordy. The quintet show off a small portion of the wide range of uniform combinations the Jayhawks wear on game days. The 2017 schedule also graces the back schedule, with promotions for each home game listed.

Beaty and his coaching staff are featured on the inside front cover, again with the high-tech locker room as the back drop. Defensive coordinator Clint Bowen, who is entering his 17th year on the Kansas coaching staff and 20th year overall with the program, and offensive coordinator Doug Meacham, who is entering his first season as the Kansas play-caller, are positioned directly behind Beaty with the rest of the staff filling the rest of the page.

The inside back cover depicts Kansas football’s dedication to helping raise both awareness and funds in the fight against childhood cancer in honor of #TeamCole. #TeamCole came together to support the fight of Cole Hayden, son of associate athletics director for academic and career counseling Shanda Hayden, who lost his battle to undifferentiated sarcoma on Dec. 10, 2016.

Armstrong, who was recently tabbed the Big 12’s Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, Wise, Dineen, Adeniji and Beaty will represent the Jayhawks in Frisco as they take part in Big 12 Football Media Days on Monday, July 17.
