2017 Kansas volleyball TV coverage includes ESPN2, ESPNU, FSN

  2017 Schedule

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Eighth-ranked Kansas volleyball will appear on national television three times during the Big 12 portion of the 2017 schedule, the league announced on Thursday. The three national television appearances modifies dates and times from KU’s originally-announced schedule and supplements KU’s comprehensive TV coverage of home matches.

In addition to three appearances selected by the Big 12 Conference television partners, all of the Jayhawks’ 11 remaining home matches will be available on the Jayhawk Television Network (JTV), powered by Spectrum Sports, or ESPN3 via WatchESPN or the ESPN app.

KU’s Big 12 opener at Kansas State will air on ESPN2. This year’s first edition of the Dillons Sunflower Showdown has been moved back one day to Sunday, Sept. 24 at noon Central from K-State’s Ahearn Fieldhouse.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, Kansas plays host to TCU on FOX Sports Network. First serve between the Jayhawks and Horned Frogs has been moved back one hour to noon Central at Horejsi Family Athletics Center.

The reigning Big 12 champions and the nation’s preseason top-ranked team will meet on ESPNU on Wednesday, Oct. 11 in Lawrence. The first showdown of the season between 2016 Big 12 champion Kansas and No. 1 Texas will now begin at 8 p.m. Central.

Saturday’s exhibition match against UMKC is the first of three matches available solely on ESPN3. The three ESPN3-only contests, produced by KU’s own Rock Chalk Video, are Saturday against UMKC and a doubleheader on Sept. 8 during the Kansas Invitational against Ohio Valley Conference preseason favorite Belmont and No. 25 Purdue.

JTV will televise seven home matches beginning with KU’s date with No. 14 Kentucky on Sept. 4. All JTV telecasts are available to stream live on ESPN3 (subject to blackout in the greater Kansas City area). JTV’s slate of televised matches include No. 9 Creighton on Sept. 9, Iowa State on Sept. 27, Texas Tech on Oct. 21, Oklahoma on Oct. 25, Kansas State on Nov. 8 and KU’s Senior Day against West Virginia on Nov. 25.

Other TV or video streaming appearances during the 2017 season include KU’s two matches against NC State on ACC Network Extra (Aug. 25 & 26), all three matches during Utah Valley’s Wolverine Invitational on FloVolleyball (Aug. 31-Sept. 2) and the rematch against Texas on Longhorn Network (Nov. 15). ACC Network Extra and Longhorn Network are available on WatchESPN or the ESPN app. FloVolleyball is a service of FloSports and requires a monthly or yearly subscription.
