Rankings update: Kansas slated No. 9 in week three of AVCA Coaches Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kansas volleyball is ranked No. 9 in the AVCA Coaches Poll released on Monday, Sept. 11. The Jayhawks have been ranked 35-straight times in the AVCA poll, including 29 of the last 30 polls in the top-10.

Last week, Kansas (9-1) tallied two victories over current top-15 teams, defeating No. 12 Kentucky and No. 15 Purdue at home before a 17-match home regular-season winning streak was snapped in a top-10 battle against No. 7 Creighton.

The Big 12 features three of its nine teams ranked in the top-25, including No. 9 Kansas, No. 6 Texas and No. 19 Iowa State. Two additional 2017 opponents (Baylor and Missouri State) are receiving votes in this week’s poll.

Kansas concludes the nonconference portion of its schedule at the Santa Clara / San Jose Tournament in the Bay Area of California this weekend, Sept. 15-16. The event features San Jose State, Santa Clara and Idaho.
