Rychagova advances at Lubbock $25K

Lubbock, Texas – Kansas junior Anastasia Rychagova defeated Kianah Motosono, 6-1, 6-0, to advance in the singles qualifying bracket at the Lubbock $25K on Saturday at the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Rychagova, who owns a preseason ranking of No. 35, will play Piia Suomalainen at 9 a.m., CT Sunday. The winner will face the victor of the Livia Kraus and Aarohi Parikh match later in the day.

“It was so weird to realize that I’m playing in a professional tournament and that I can’t say ‘Here we go Hawks,'” said Rychagova. “I had to wear clothes without any Kansas logos and it was so unusual. It is definitely an unbelievable experience and I want to say thank you to my coaches and all the people who made it happen for me.”
