The sophomore running back rushed for a career-high 137 yards on 19 carries in Kansas’ 42-30 loss at Ohio Saturday. Herbert ran for two touchdowns, including a career-long 56-yard score to jumpstart the KU offense at the 9:11 mark of the second quarter. His second score occurred on the final play of the game, a 2-yard touchdown run. Herbert also added two catches for 18 yards.

The Kansas sophomore was runner-up in the first event of the season, the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin. Spencer compiled the three best rounds of his collegiate career, highlighted by the 10th-best round of any Jayhawk golfer in program history. Triggered by a 35-foot birdie putt on his first hole, Spencer opened his second round by birdieing three of his first four holes and then later added five more birdies, including three over his final five holes. The end result was a 7-under, 65. He finished the event 10-under with a 206 and second-place overall.

With a pair of 50-assist games, Havili was a likely choice for the Santa Clara/San Jose State Invitational All-Tournament Team. Over the three matches, Havili dished out 138 assists (46 per match) and was second on the team with 46 digs over the three matches. Against Santa Clara, Havili collected a season-best nine kills and then she added six more in the win over Idaho.

The “Payne Train” made her way to the Santa Clara/San Jose State Invitational this past weekend and led the Jayhawks to a 2-1 mark. She was also named to the all-tournament team after recording 57 kills (4.38 per set) on a .382 hitting percentage over the three matches. Payne also became the 14th Jayhawk to reach 300 career blocks, making her only one of four all-time Jayhawks with 300 or more career blocks and 1,200 or more career kills.
