Rychagova continues in doubles at Lubbock $25K

LUBBOCK, Texas – Kansas junior Anastasia Rychagova’s singles play came to an end Tuesday, but she will play in the quarterfinal round of the doubles main draw at the Lubbock $25K Wednesday at the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock, Texas.

In the first round of singles, Rychagova was not able to overcome No. 7 seed Chieh-Yu Hsu, dropping the match, 7-5, 6-2, and ending her run in the main draw bracket.

“I’m glad I was able to play this tournament and see the level,” said Rychagova. “I have so much to take from this experience and now it’s time to get back to work.”

Rychagova and partner Alexandra Valenstein played their first match on Monday and defeated Rasheeda McAdoo and Nikita Uberoi, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 10-6. With the first round complete, the duo will face the No. 3 seeded pair of Harriet Dart and Francesca Di Lorenzo Wednesday at 3 p.m., CT.
