Policies for Big Jay & Baby Jay Appearances:

1. Applications must be received a minimum of four weeks in advance.
2. Completion of this form does not guarantee KU can fulfill the request.
3. Appearances have a one-hour minimum requirement.
4. A private & lockable changing room is required for mascot. (No public changing rooms)
5. Water must be provided for mascot.
6. A meal must be provided if the appearance is over one hour away or if it is during meal hours.
7. Confirmation will be made no less than two weeks after the form is submitted.
8. Commercial entities or personal requests will be charged a fee of $150 per hour, $0.58 per mile, and $15 per driving hour. Appearance fee applies to agree upon appearance schedule confirmation. Any alteration of agreed upon schedule at appearance will result in hourly fees added for additional time in suit.
9. Departments of the University of Kansas will be charged a fee of $100 per hour, $0.58 per mile, and $15 per driving hour, if off campus. Appearance fee applies to agree upon appearance schedule confirmation. Any alteration of agreed upon schedule at appearance will result in hourly fees added for additional time in suit.
10. The costumes will not be loaned or rented.
11. Requests for wedding receptions or events at which alcohol is served will be denied. Wedding receptions will only be allowed at the start of reception, no exceptions.
12. Payment for the appearance must be received before the event takes place. Checks should be made payable to "KAI." or by credit card prior to event.
13. Photos taken of mascots during the appearance may not be used in any commercial manner without the express written permission of Kansas Athletics.
14. Event planners may publicize the Spirit Squad’s appearance at their event. images may be used on promotional materials. Confirmation or denial of event will be communicated via email within 2 weeks of receipt of request.
