Was the Jayhawks[apos] top vaulter on the season with a top clearance of 5.30 meters (17-4.50 ft.), which he hit on two occasions… Tied for first at the Texas Relays (3/29), tying his personal-best clearance of 5.30 meters (17-04.50 ft.)… Competed at the Big 12 Championships (5/13) where he finished 10th with a vault of 5.01 meters (17-04.50 ft.)… Earned a spot at the NCAA Midwest Regional for the second-straight season, clearing 5.01 meters (16-05.25 ft.) and finishing in a tie for 29th… Tied for first the Kansas Relays (4/20) where he hit a mark of 5.25 meters (17-02.75 ft.)… Named to the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team.
2012 INDOOR
Earned bronze after his clearance of 5.15 meters (16-10.75 ft.) at the Big 12 Indoor Championships (2/24)… Recorded a personal- and team season-best vault of 5.21 meters (17-01.00 ft.) at the Tyson Invitational (2/11) where he went on to finish third… Won the pole vault at the Kansas vs. Missouri Dual (1/13) with a clearance of 5.20 meters (17-00.75 ft.)… Recorded runner-up finishes at the Bill Easton Classic (1/7) and at the Bob Timmons Challenge (12/2) with marks of 5.05 meters (16-06.75 ft.) and at the Jayhawk Classic (1/27), clearing a height 5.21 meters (17-01.00 ft.)
2011 OUTDOOR
Recorded a personal-best vault of 5.15 meters (16-10.75 ft.) at the Kansas Relays (4/22) to earn fourth place… Took sixth place at the Big 12 Championships (5/14) after clearing 5.13 meters (16-10 ft.)… Registered his best individual finish of third place at two different events, the Bill Williams/Bob Laptad Invitational (4/29) with a mark of 4.93 meters (16-02 ft.) and the Razorback Spring Invitational (4/2) with a vault of 4.90 meters (16-00.75 ft.).
2011 INDOOR
Cleared five meters in the pole vault three times during the season, including at the Big 12 Championships (2/25) to earn seventh place… Claimed second place at the New Balance Invitational (2/5) and third place at the Missouri Dual with vaults of five meters… Took second place at the Bill Easton Classic (1/8) with a vault of 4.90 meters (16-00.75 ft.)… Finished third in the pole vault at the Tyson Invitational (2/12) with a mark of 4.90 meters (16-00.75 ft.).

Lettered in swimming and diving, along with four years of track at Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, Ariz… Earned Most Valuable Athlete for the pole vault in 2008 and 2010… Holds the school record in the pole vault with a vault of 5.00 meters (16-4.75 ft.)… Three-time 5A regional champion in the pole vault… 5A state champion his senior year… Nike national champion in the pole vault… Earned a fourth-place finish in the Great Southwest Region… Earned eighth place at the 2010 Junior Nationals.
